THE HAWKE'S BAY SEAT.
SIR JOHN FINDLAY A CANDIDATE, (By Telegraph—Special to News.) Wellington, Last Night. It is reported, on good authority, that 1 Sir John Findlay, after taking some days to consider the matter, has consented, at the request of the Liberal leaders, to allow himself to be nominated for the Hawke's Bay seat in the House of Representatives, rendered vacant by the death of Dr. McXab. The Reformers, adhering to the understanding between the parties when the National Government was formed, will not put up a candidate, and it seems likely, from reports received, from the constituency, that Sir John wilj be returned without a contest
