TWO MEN DIiOWXEI). By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christelmreh, Felt. 7. I'hilip Fleury and Chas. Herd, of Sumner, left in the motor launch Kini to fish for groper off Pigeon Bay yesterday, and failed to return. A heavy south-westerly was blowing. Information has been received that the men were discovered in an exhausted condition by a steamer making for Lyttolton. The boat towed them to within two miles of the Heads, when a heavy sea swamped the boat, which disappeared with the occupants. An hour's search failed to find any trace of the boat or men. Fleury was married, and leaves a widow and five young children. He was bandmaster of the Sumner Hand. Ilerd was married, and leaves a widow and twe young children.
