BRITISH ADVANCE 1000 YARDS ■ ENEMY AERODROME BOMBED. Received Feb. 7, 8.50 p.m. ' London, Feb. C. Sir Dciglas Haig reports: "We advanced our line in the neighborhood of Grandcourfc, where a thousand yards of trench were occupied without opposition, and furthehr prisoners were captured. Eastward of Beaucourt aircraft bombed an enemy aerodrome, and did considerable damage. Two British aeroplanes were brought down, and two of the enemy's were also brought down in a, damaged condition. BRUQES HARBOR BOMBED. SUCCESSFUL RESULTS. Received Feb. 7, 8.50 p.m. London, Feb. G. The Admiralty reports that naval aeroplanes attacked Bruges harbor on Friday, and bombed the torpedo craft, and set fire to the dock buildings. In another successful raid on Saturday they bombed the docks and railway Hues. Wellington, Feb. 7. The High Commissioner reports under date London, February 6, 0.20 p.m.: — Our naval aeroplaoes attacked Bruges harbor on Friday. Heavy bombs fell on torpedo craft, and the docks and buildings were set on fire. Anoiher raid was carried out the following night successfully. DUNKIRK BOMBED. Received Feb. 7, 10.15 p.m. London, Feb. 7. A German official message states that naval seaplane 3/2 bombed the Dunkirk harlior works, and started a fire in the sheds. EjVEMY RAIDS REPULSED. FURTHER SUCCESSES. London, Feb. 0. Sir Douglas Haig reports: We repulsed three attempted raids on the ijomme front. i The local operations we carried out last night north and eastwards of Gueudecourt were entirely successful. We occupied 500 yards of trenches and .repulsed two counter-attacks. We entered the enemy's lines la si night at three points in the neighborhood of Bouchavesnes, Pys, and Grandcourt. The enemy made four unsuccessful counter-attacks on the new front. Eastward of Beaucourt our positions h£.ve been consolidated. A party reached our lines north-east-ward of Vermelles, but were ejected. GERMAN ORGANISATIONS BOMBARDED. A. & N.Z. Cable Association and Renter. Received Feb. 8, 12.55 a.m. London, Feb. 7. A French communique states: Lively artillery duels occurred on the Belgium sector of the Passendale canal. German organisations on various sectors on the right of'the Meuse were effectively bombarded. BELGIAN RELIEF. New York, Feb. 6. Mr. Hoover announces that, in the event of war, the Belgian relief headquarters will be transferred to Holland. FRENCH SUCCESSES. A. & N.Z. Cable Association and Rcuter. Received Feb. 7, 5.5 p.m. London, Feb. 0. A French communique states: The ene my after a-violent bombardment, attacked north-west of the forest of Parley, Lorraine. A detachment penetrated ouv first line, but was immediately driven out. Onr reconnaisances, after artillery preparation, penetrated the German trenches at' three points in the region of Aspach, north-west of Altkircli, Alsace, and wrecked the works.
