TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
p I One of the most pleasant and ponuhr ; trips fur holiday makers is an excursion : to Now Plymouth, tlio beautiful sur- i rov.ndings of which always appeal to j those iii'qiKsl of enjoyment. The best time to visit New Plymouth is undoubt- 1 eilly the- autumn, when the weather can be relied upon, and when also the annual cattle show is held. This takes place on February 28 and March 1 at the Society's new and up-to-date Show Grounds at. Waiwakaiho, and this year's gi'ttioriiifr promises to eclipse all previous events. There are events for horses, competitions for all breeds and classes, and I in nearly all instances the prize-money will be supplemented by valuable trophies or specials, and it is fully expected tl.nl the competitions in the jumping events will be the most numerous that have ever taken part at a Taranaki Agriculiural Show. The choice breeds in both cattle and sheep should bo well represented. and be equal to anything: yet seen in the North Island, There are classes for every breed, variety and a«e, and the system and experience of the stewards never fails to satisfy exhibitors. Anyone who owns stock of any description should apply to the secretary for a schedule in which they will undoubtedly find classes to suit them. Entries close frith the secretary, P.O. Box 19, New Plymouth, on Saturday. February 17.
