A GROWING LIABILITY. By Telegraph.—Prcsa Association. Wellington, Feb. 5. During January the War Pensions Department dealt with 013 cases —403 new claims, 208 renewals, and 183 reviews of annual pensions. The total new pension* granted were 387, of an annual value of £23,069, an average of £SO. The annual liability is now £29G,1G4, estimate! to be reducible by 000 cancellations for various reasons to £251,000.
