I SPECIAL RELIEF PROVISIONS. | Wellington, Jan. 30. A doubt lias been expressed whether the soldiers' special .relief provision', np to £2 per week, in respeet of payment of rent, life insurance, etc., apply to officers. Inquiries made in official quarters totiny elicited the pronouncement that the provisions appiy equally to officers, noncommissioned officers, and men. Such relief, however, will only be granted where it is shown to he necessary. Forms of application are now being prepared for members of the forces, \vho liiay apply at any time. So far as men at present serving abroad are concerned, their next-of-kin ir, New Zealand may make application on their behalf.
