A NEW WAREHOUSE.
MESSRS COCK & CO.'S ENTERPRISE. The foundations of Messrs Cock and Co.'s warehouse in .Carrie street 'lmve been laid, and rapid progress is being made in connection with the erection of the structure. The site on which the foundations are laid has a 70ft (Jin frontage to Currio. street and l*2Bft frontage to Kawau street. Ferro-con-crete is the principal Aaterial being used, and the plans provide for a basement and one lloor. The elevation fronting Cnrrie street will be. finished in pressed brick, relieved with plastic mould cornices and columns. The basement., the ceiling of which will stand 4ft'aUove the level of flic footpath, will not be divided by partitions. 'A row of offices will occupy the front portion of the main floor, and behind these the packing will be situated. A cart dock in Kawau street and a hydraulic lift will be included in the arrangements. Thirty men are now engaged o:i the work, which it is expected will be finished in four months. Mr. F. Johns, of Wellington, designed the building, and Messrs Roberts and Soil, of New Plymouth, are carrying out the work.
