SENATOR HOLDS STRONG VIEWS. REPRESENTATION' AT CONFERENCE. —— ' Ottawa, January 2(1. ■Senator Pope introduced ft resolution in the Senate which stated that only the nations participating in tne war should participate in the peace negotiations in view of the fact that nations, which had taken no part in tlio war were taking the liberty of suggesting a settlement. He thought Canada should express an opinion as to who was entitled to sit at tilie conference on pence negotiations. V'uless President Wilson's efforts for peace met with greater success than his efforts wil.li Mexico the world would have to look for a new man with new methods.
