CREDULITY
ARE PEOPLE EASILY MISLED? Credulity is tlio state of believing v. ithout cvideifco or being easily misled Twenty years ago the average man was decidedly credulous, and was very often victimised by ; eople who took advantage of his confidence by taking him into all sorts of doubtful speculations. Nowadays, however, times are changed, and if an agent or salesman wishes to do business lie must be prepared to produce facts ri.l figures. The days of Wind confidence are gone, and the buyer is row usually as clever a business man as the seller. This refers particularly lo farmers anl country residents. They have learned their lesson in tho hard sci'ool of practical experience, and see to it that tliey get full value for their money. This fact was forcibly brought home to the New Zealand agents for Vi'iiiird Lighting Systems two years ago when thev started to sell their lighting plants for country homes, etc. The firm knew that Wizard Lamps were reliable, but found it hard to get people to accept their word for it. To get over the difficulty tl.c agents sent out travelers, but instead of asking farmers and storekeeper to buy outright, they nerely got permission to install a lighting plant in the house or store, with the understanding that the customer would have the option of purchasing at the end of a month, but if he did not wish lo buy, the firm undertook to remove the plant at its own expense. Over 500 complete Wizard Lighting Plants were installed under this arrangement, and iu every case but one the customer decided to purchase. The onr. rejected plant was not removed owing to any fau'.t, and was immediately sold to a neighbour. In this' way the firm was able to convince even the n.csl sceptical that their goods were reliable aitd as represented. The Wizard Light for country homes is now so well known and the agents have secured the confidence of country people to such an extent that trial orders are not found rueessary, and euswMers prefer to receive the five years' guarantee, which Sues with each plant, rather than have the month's free trial. Many of New ■ Zealand's leading business men and ric.st successful fanners are among the 2000 Wizard Light users. Thcv have proved the ligh;oig plant to be efficient, reliable, and economical, and do not hesitate to recommend it to their friends.
Complete Wi/.anl plants arc sold an low as £ls, and they supply an ideal l<;»ht for country homesteads, stores, d(. Further information may lie ohtrreil bv writing to Die N.Z. agents, Mcf-rs Early Bros., 5!) Cuba street, Wellington.—GlG
