DAMAGE*isTIMATED AT A MILLIOX. Received Jan. '24, 5.5 )>.ni. 1 ■ London, dan. 23. The damage caused by the explosion | is estimated at £1,000,000. A COMMITTEE OV INQUIRY. Received Jail. 24, 5.5 p.m. London, Jan. 23. Sir Henry Blackwell, Major Cooper Kev (Chief Inspector of Explosives), and Colonel Sir Fred. Xatlian have been appointed a committee to inquire into the explosion, and make su-eh recommendations as may be desirable.
