' At the Labor Conference Mr. Philip Snowden, Labor member for Blackburn, attacked his colleagues' policy of good i'itli, and described them as dumb log.-. This provoked an angry scene, in v.-hich Looting was intermingled with cheer*. 3Ji. Snowden said that the Labor Ministers were responsible for legislation inimical to the trade unions and unparalleled in the country's history. There had been one long record of Labor sacrifices since the war began. Several delegates warmly replied, sup petting the Labor Ministers. The council of the Chambers of Agriculture has decided to urge upon the government the fixing of the minimum price of wheat for at least four years, with four years' notice of withdrawal. One speaker anticipated that wheat ■could reach 10s per quarter.
