liy Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The latent development in connection with tlio threatened increase in the. price of meat in Auckland is that the Government has arranged to take over the business of a retailer who has two shops, one in the city and one in tlio suburbs. Tho shops will start on Thursday next, receiving supplies from freezing works, and retailing them at the existing pfices.
