CONDITIONS IN SYRIA. STARVATION, DEATHS AXD SUICIDES. Rome, January 19. Official information states that 110,000 feivc died of hunger in Syria. Hundreds of :xh&usted inhabitants are everywhere picked up in the streets, and there are numberless suicides in Jerusalem, which are attributed to starvation. The conditions are indescribable; Unpeople are citing earth and filth. The Apostolic Delegate in Constantinople is gjrjng- aid in the Pope's name.
