AGRICULTURAL LABOR. ■ .PROTESTS AGAINST MILITARY SERVICE. Received Jan. 20, 8.30 ,>.m\ London, Jan. 10. Representative agriculturists have pealed to Mr. Lloyd George against the calling up of agricultural laborers. The Office claims that the census reweals a surplus of agricultural labor in ■ome ureas. Several agricultural combtittees have memorialised Mr. Prothero (Minister of Agriculture), --tating that the men camot lie spared, because the C 3 substitutes are useless. %Ir. Lloyd George presided at a Ministerial Co»ference, -which included Lord iDerby, Mr. Prothero, Mr. Hodge, Mr. Long, And Mr. Bonar Law. It is understood that the order will be modified only ae regards- €3 men with agricultural knowledge being utilised as submore fit military men.
