SOLDIERS' PENSIONS.
OVER 5000 GRANTED.. The War Pensions Hoard last week dealt with 114 new claims 49 renewals and 13S reviews of animal pensions. Seven new pensions were, granted and 34 allowances made to soldiers. Thirtysix dependents we're granted pensions and eleven were made allowances; 37 temporary pension: ivcrc renewed; 12 soldiers' annual pensions were renewed and eleven were adjourned; 115 dependents' pensions were continued anil two widows' pensions increased to tjje full amount. The total pensions and'allownnces in force now aro as follows: Nine hundred' and forty soldiers' pensions, annual value £49,397, average £52; *'Bo7 widows' pensions (including 001 children), annual value £38,782, average £O7; I#> other dependents' pensions, annual Mine £40,437, average £2B; 2759 allowances, annual value £149,224, average £54; 5504 pensions and allowance, annual value £277;54f1, average of £SO. This total liability is reducible by about £40,000 in respect of approximately SOO cases which have gone oft' the roll.
