WRONG NAME GIVEN.
THE INSPECTOR FOQLED. When the case, Borough Inspector v. Arthur Scott (Mr. A. Patterson) was called in the Magistrate's Court yesterday, tiie informant was non-plussed to find that the. defendant was not the man lie expected to see. The charge was one of leaving a motor-ear standing 011 the wrong side of Devon Strijet 011 the .evening of January 3. \
The inspector said the car tfas standing near Everybody's Theatre from 9.3(1 p.m. to IflrW p.m. It should have been on the other side of the road. When the man ill charge of the car came out of the theatre, witness went up to him and asked, "What is your name?" The man replied. "Arthur Scott!" Counsel (pointing to his client): Is this the man?—l don't think that is the man.
Are you sure the man did not say the car was owned by Arthur Scott? — Yes; he said his name was Arthur Scott.
Counsel said the man, referred to was liot'dcfemlant, foi the latter wa. at Purangi 011 the night in question. There were witnesses in Court who could move it.
The Court: Then the case nuist be dismissed.
Counsel: 1 have subpoenaed two wit ncsses. I ask for their expenses and 111;
The witnesses' expen-. , ( £1 16s) were allowed. The solicitor's fee was not allowed.
