WHANGAMOMONA COUNTY COUNCIL.

The Council met on 'Monday, when there were present: Messrs. McCutcban (ch;,irnisn). O'.Veill, fieever, Cleland, Moun-ev, Coyne, and McCluggage. Resolved, on the motion of Crs. O'Neill and (ieevcr,.Jtlnit application lie made to the Land Hoard for approval to expend "thirds" accrued on Putikitnna Road for repair of Kohuratahi Road, damaged by the carting of metal to the former road to the extent of £IOO, the application being made by written request of "the majority of the Crown tenants liojding property on the Putikituna Road An amendment that C'rs. Geever and Cleland be a committee to accept tenders for the 'Putikitumv Road metal contract forthwith was lost in favoi of a motion by Crs. O'Neill and MeCuti chan; that the same two Councillors be a committee to accept the tender upon consent being obtained from the Land Board.

Cr. Gcever's notice of motion re main roads is to be definitely dealt with at next meeting, and all Councillors will be notified to that effect.

Mr. Perrean was engaged as surfaceman at Makahu, with use of the Council's whare, minor matters connected therewith to lie left in the hands of Crs. Coyne and Mounsey,' with power to act.

Cr. McCluggage's action in employing a man-to clear slips at a cost, of £4 on Junction Road was confirmed.

Permission was given to MeCluggage Bros, to lav limber on the unused portion of Pohokura. Road, above Piteaithly's wool shed, under certain conditions.

The overseer was empowered to employ S. Metcalfe on the road in Poholuira Riding for two months, to clear up same.

It was resolved on the motion of Crs. McCluggage anl Cleland, that the Council's solicitor.-, be asked to advise re the Council's liability to F. Baker in regard to his account against the Council, or any items thereof, and that if, in their opinion, the Council is liable, the whole amount be paid forthwith—Post.
