TARANAKI WAR RELIEF ASSOCIATION. The monthy meeting of the executive ol the Taranaki Provincial War Relief Association was held at Stratford on Monday, when there were present: Messrs C. H. Burgess (New Plymouth. F. C. Crump (Eltham), Kirkwood (Stratford), Mills (Ilawera), Dunn (Manaia:. Porcival (Inglewood), and Rev. Mr. Tinslev (representing Opunake). It was decided to recommend the Salvation Army's appeal for a subsidy tc the Army's relief work to the admi-i ietrators of the funds sent, to Englae': ir. the same manner as they had in tin' case of the Y.M.C.A.

The receipt of £ISC from the Elthaiu Patriotic Committee was acknowledged.

The matter of the loan of £3OOO tn the New Plymouth Borough Council had been placed in the hands of the Association'!) solicitor, and the town clerk i'f New Plymouth had been notified that the loan eouhl bi granted froiv February 1. It has alsc been requested that the debentures be £SOO each.

Tjje association's post office savings lank account totalled £BOOO, and they had a balance at the bank of £482 17s lOd.

Several changes have lately been made in the offices of the Public Work; Department at Stratford Messrs Dy son and T. Douglas have been transferred to Napier, whilst Mr. S. Fittall, after tw- years' stay here, left for Auckland this evening. Mr. [•'. Langbeln succeeds Mr. Dyson, and Mr. Jackson replaces Mr Fittall.
