Medley The members of the raranaki Branch of the Xe\ Zealand Society of Civil Engineers weir granted permission to inspect (lie heartworks, generating and distributing station, o, the New' Plymonth electrical and water sunnMes today.
Foul ratepayers of Fillis Street—W. H. Iluggett, (J. llollard, Winifred Morev, and B. fT. Bullock—wrote asking the Council to complete the formation of Fillis Street between Liardet street and Govov Street.
The Engineei reported that the levels would be taken and an estimate would be prepared showing the cost of constructing Fillis Street, which was pra.ticallv unformed. '
It was resolved tc defer the request! The Engineer submitted a report of the condition of Devon Street from Waiwakailio bridge to Liardet Street, and an estimate of the variou. sections. It was extremely diliicult to estimate the cost ivitil anything like accuracy. Some lengths would probaul.v ;ost £ls per chain to make a job, whilst other lengths onij required painting.
