AN INTER-ALLIED GENERA!- STAFF Received, Jan. 14, 5.5 p.m. Paris, Jan. 13. The Parliamentary Group nf National Action resolved on urging the Appointment of an inter-Allied General Staff to advise the Governments as to the wa» and as to the appointment of a Com-mai.dei-in-Chief by common consent, to be assisted by the inter-Allied staff who, if necessary, will amalgamate the different troops. TRENCHES ENTERED. Received Jan. 13, 7 p.m. London, Jan. 12. •Field-Marshal Sir Douglas Haig reports: We entered trencher at two points northward of Arras and took prisoners. A SUCCESSFUL ATTACK. London, Jar. i2. Mr. Gibbs states that yesterday's attack at Beaumont Hamel followed a severe bombardment. Our casualties were slight. The attack was made before daylight. Seventy-five per cent, of the prisoners were Bavarians, the remainder being Prussians. The enemy's barrage was erratic. The new positions form the ion ot a ridge. There is reason to believe that these local operations are part of a methodical plan preluding \astly more important operations. GERMANS CLAIM SUCCESS. (Admiralty per AVireless Press).
