Nicholson, New Zealand manager for the National Mutual Life Assoc ; alion, has received the following calile from lite head office, Melbourne:— "The 47th annual meeting was held at Melbourne; yesterday The chairman, in moving the adoption of the annual report, congratulated members on the incrtased business and the continued general prosperity of the association. "The rate of interest has been well maintained, an average of nearly 5 per cent, being received for all money invested, and it is gratifying to know that the expenses of management have been considerably reduced. The ratio of expenses to total income is now 10.37. The death claims arc larger than the previous year owing entirely to war cas-uaities"
