FORTHCOMING SHOW. One of the most pleasant and popular trips for holiday-makers is an excursion to Now Plymouth, whose beautiful surroundings always appeal to those in quest of enjoyment. The best time to visit New Plymouth is undoubtedly the autumn, when the weather can be relied upon, and when, also, the annual cattlf show is held. This takes place on February 28 and March 1, and this year's gathering promises to eclipse all previous events. There are events for horses, competitions for all breeds and classes, and in nearly all instances the prize-money will be supplemented by valuable trophies or specials, and it h fully- expected that the competitions in the jumping events will be the most numerous that have ever taken part at a Taranaki Agricultural Show. The choice breeds in botli cattle ami sheep should be well/represented, ami b.; equal to anything yet seen in the North Island. There are classes for every breed, variety, and age, and the system and experience of the stewards never fails to satisfy exhibitors. The new Show Grounds at "Waiwakaiho are now on their way to completion, and should, when complete, be on<of the fi.ll.eat grounds in the Dominion. Everything possible is being- done to ensure, comfort for all classes of stock Anyone who owns stock of any description should apply to the secretary for a schedule, in which they will lim! classes to suit them. An electric tram service will lie running every fifteen minutes from- Egmont Street, New Plymogjjjgjtt.within a few minutes' walk of the groTinds. Owners of stock are reminded to consign same to the Smart Road station, which is quite handy to the grounds. Entries close with the secretaty, P.O. Box- in, New Plymouth, on Saturday, February 17.
