A RAILWAY FATALITY.
UNKNOWN MAN MUTILATED. HIS TICKET TAKEN AT INGLEWOOD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. AVanganui, Last Night A middle-aged man, whose identity is at present unknown, met his death at Aramoho railway station late this afternoon under tragic circumstances. Deceased was a .passenger on the Wellington train to New Plymouth, and was seated in a carriage which was shunted off and attached to the Wanganui train. As this train commenced to leave, deceased evidently realised he was in the wrong train, and endeavored to jump off, with the result that he fell beneath the wheels of the carriage. His body was' shockingly mutilated, the head being almost severed. Deceased was apparently about CO years of age, and had in his pocket a return ticket to Thorn* don, issued at Inglewood on Jaunary 2, DESCRIPTION OF THE VICTIM The following description of the victim of the above accident been furnished by the New Plymouth police:— The man was about .Ift. Sin. in height, had a grey trimmed beard, was dressed, in a brown striped suit, and wore a brown cap and grey wiollen stockings. He also had a large open-face silver watch.
