, A WOMAN'S DISAPPEARANCE. Sy, Telegraph.—Press Association, Cartel-ton, Jan. S. Tlie police were informed last night of the disappearance of a woman who had given the name of Mrs. dale, from Loir's boarding-house. A note was left intimating the woman's intention of doaway with herself. A search was organised immediately, but no truce was found. She was dressed only ill night clothes and an overcoat. The police stato that her proper name is Hilda Kobenstein. The search continues. The note left states that it is the second try and she ,is going to make sure. MILITARY SERIVCE BOARD. Dunedin, Jan. 8. At the sitting of the Otago Military Service Board to-day, at Dunedin, the adjourned appeal of Cecil Hadem Tait, dental student, was heard. The appeal was supported by the Chancellor of the Otago University on behalf of l)r Pickerill, Dean of the JJental School, who is on active service. The chairman announced that appellant had been passed as fit for home service, and was willing to take up duties s clerk. The appeal was formally dismissed, appellant to te drafted to home service.
