For several years he was clerk at Inglewood, and was subsequently promoted to stationmaster at MidliirsW an appointment he had 'to relinquish foT health reasons about six years 0?o. Since then, when his health would permit, he lias been attached to the New Plymouth railway staff. He was a member of the Inglewood Druids' 'Lodge, having been a Past-Arch, and was also l'i'oemasoii. At n meeting of railway men vesterday a vote of condolence with the relatives was passed.
