A PLUCKY RESCUE By Telegraph.—Press Association. Pahiatua, Last Nigh*. A plucky rescue from drowning was effected by .T. J. Plunket at Akitio pier. \V. E. Dnvies, storekeeper at Pon»aroa, got caught- in a strong under-current, and, :\'er being' helplessly tossed about by the* •cives for some time, was brought completely exhausted, after the third attempt, by Plunket. The spectators immediately subscribed £2O for iPlunEet, and also presented him with an address.
