■■On RASPUTIN'S MURDER. Australian-N.Z. Cable Association. Received Jan. 3, 5.5 p.m. London, Jan. 2. The Daily Chronicle's Petrograd correspondent describes the assassination of Rasputin. It is stated that two aristocrats motored to Rasputin's residence and. took him to Prince YoussoupolT's lionise, whence the police heard shots and cries. The body "was placed in a car, and was driven towards the mouth of tile Neva. The two persons concerned are of high rank, one being well known in London society. SYDNEY'S BUILDING IN 1010. Sydney, Last Night. In the metropolitan area last year 0253 new buildings were completed, at a cost of £4,479,000, compared with "(>32 buildings and £5,124,000 cost in the previous year, A FEDERAL NATIONAL CABINET. Melbourne, Last Night. Negotiations for the formation of a National Ministry are progressing. It is understood it will be composed of a number of Hughes' and Cook's parties proportionate to their strength.
