The cases were adjourned, appellants to report to the authority through Mr. Young monthly while remaining in their present occupation. An appeal on behalf of a shearer was supported by the union secretarv, who Ist ated that the number of Australians coming Ihis year was far below normal/ Captain Walker said he would not strongly oppose the exemption of any n>,-in who had some years' experience of shearing, but would strenuously oppose an appeal by any man who liecame a shearer only last year or ~e • year before, The hoard s;iid, the grounds of appeal were not sufficiently supported, and dismissed it.
