The family were at lunch when the outbreak occurred upstairs. Mr. Nathan attempted to put the flames out with the garden bose, but, fanned by a light breeze, the flames hud too strong a hold when the brigade arrived, and could do nothing. Jlr. Nathan lost everything, including a valuable collection of silver and jewellery.
