BOWLING TOURNAMENT.
1 OPENING DAY'S PLAY. The local bowling tournament opened very successfully o» the three town greens yesterday. All. the greens were playing keenly, and some good bowling was witnessed. There were four sections, each comprising six rinks. All the New Plymouth Clubs were freely represented, whilst Waitara, Inglewood, Stratford 1 , Manaia, and Okato entered one or more rinks. Four rounds of the section play were completed yesterday. This morning the final round of the section play takes place, and the rest of the day will be devoted to the semifinals and finals. The arrangements for the tournament were good, reflecting credit on the executive and the secretary (Mr. O. N. Firth). Details of yesterday's play are: — FITZROY GREEN. Section A. First Round.
