Forster (Financial Secretary to the War Office), replying to a Rochdale- wool deputation, said it was necessary to carefully organise the wool transport, owing to the shortage of tonnage It might be necessary to land much wool at ports outside of London. It is expected the' wool required for military purposes will be -sent direct to users. Regarding the balance, the War Offi.ro was anxious to encourage export, and give it priority over Home trade. Mr. Forstci agreed it was desirable to use,normal trade methods as far as possible, but the times were abnormal.
