A MOTOR AMBULANCE.
AX APPKAL BY THE MAYOR. His Wor=!i'p the Mayor (Mr. C. IT. Burgess) wrir.es to the editor: —There have been so many palls upon the public since the war began that one is somewhat <litTideni in making more demands i pon their j'enerosity. I am, however, making a f-irther appeal, this time to provide a motor ambulance for the town. Anyone vVlu, last Saturday, witnessed the transit of the cot ease from the train to the t.ospital must have realised the absolute necessity for such a convenience, and surely men who have suffered so much for us deserve better treatment ac our hands. The object is one that should appeal to all, as the ambulance would be available for general use as well. I will contribute .€25 towards'the erst and no doubt the lqeal Patriotic Bor.it ties will also contribute liberally, the total amount required being about -C'jO.l. Trusting to have your assistance in the matter.
