Subject to necessary alterations, mails will close at the Chief Post Office, New Plymouth, as under; — For Wellington and South, daily, at 6.15 a.m. and 12.20 p.m. For Wanganui and intermediate offices, daily, at 6.15 a.m., 12.20 and 3.55 p.m. For Auckland and North, per Rarawa, Thursday and Saturday, at 7 p.m. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 30. Mails which usually close on Monday, will close to-day at 8 p.m. Supplementary mails will be made up early on Monday, January 1. For Expeditionary Forces (parcels only), at 5 p.m. For Expeditionary Forces (newspapers only), at S p.m. Supplementary mails Monday, January 1, at (1.15 a.m. MONDAY, JANUARY 1.
The Railway Travelling Post Office wil! run as usual. WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 3. For Expeditionary Forces (letters only), at U. 15 a.m. For United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, West Indies, Central and South America, Mexico, United States of America and Canada via San l'rancisco; also, Tahiti, Rarotonga and all Cook Islands (except Mangaia), and l'enrhyn Island, at 12.20 p.m. Due London February 4.
