IMPERIAL CONFERENCE.
TO DISCUSS WAR MATTERS. Australian-N.Z. Cable Association. London, December 20. All the dominions' Prime Ministers have" been invited to a conference, which wil' be a series of War Council meetings, discussing the war organisation and post-war problems. The Prime Ministers will probably be consulted regarding peace conditions. > STATEMENT BY SECRETARY FOR TIJE COLONIES. London, Dec. 20. The Secretary for the Colonies telegraphed the Dominions yesterday.—"His Majesty's Government does not contemplate a session of the ordinary Imperial Conference, but a special war conference of the Empirje, and therefore invites your Premier to attend a series of special continuous meetings of the War Cabinet to consider urgent questions with regard to the prosecution of the war and the possible conditions in agreement with the Allies if we assent to peace and the problems arising therefrom. For the purpose of .these meetings yoiir Premier wilj be 'a member of the War Cabinet. In view of the urgency and importance of the subjects for discussion it is hoped your Premier will attend not later than the end of February, and, if unable to atteijd, v. ill appoint a substitute." 'I he. Secretary for India telegraphed the Viceroy similarly, stating that lie would represent India, and desired the assistance of two gentlemc-n specially selected.
