QUESTION OF MAINTENANCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, December Jl. The question of the maintenance of industrial school children, as between the Education Department and Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards was discussed to-day by the Wellington Hospital Board . The Education Department notified its intention to modify the scheme of payments for the maintenance of such children which, in the case of the Wellington Board, will involve a loss of about £I4OO annually. The Board decided to ask other boards to aid in testing the legality of the proposal.
