INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglowood, Dee. 21. The annual prize distribution takes place at the school on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, when it is objected a largo gathering 0 f parents will be present. The school lias had a most sikwasful year despite the fact that several changes in the staff have been made, and the'headmaster, Mr. Evan?., and his assistants are deserving of congratulations on the excellent inspector's report just to hand. The had a very successful pass, 27 sat and 25 .sained proficiency, two gaining competency Certificates. jTliis result is certainly worthy of congratulation.
On Saturday next the Red Cross Mart will be in charge of the Kaimata, Bristol read. AVaitni and Ratapiko ladies. The following go into camp at an early date:—Messrs. Hartigan, Nicol, Cramer, Cartwright, Lumsden, Tindle and leung.
Corporal H. J. M. Thomson arrived on Wednesday evening on special leave, and is looking remarkably well. Stocks are still solling'at record prices. On Wednesday, at Mr. King's yards, amongst a very large gntry of mixed cattle, were about 300 vearling steer* which averaged about £!)" The prospects of cheap meat in the near future do not look too ro*y.
