A Russian communique states:—We repulsed attacks south-west ot Brodv, also in the region of Pardita and on the left bank of the Danube. There is intense fighting jd our right flank on the iDobrudja. London, Dec. 20. The Russians importantly checked the German advance before Batagn, :)() miles west of Brailia, giving time to remove the Brailia wheat stores, and providing a eleai retreat for the Dohrudja troops.

The Russian General, Gonako, has taken command of the Russo-Rouman'an forces' The Roumanians are reorganising behind the Russians. , BUCHAREST FINED BY THE GENTLE GERMANS. , Received Dec. 21, 9 p.m. London, Dec. 21. It is reported the Germans have levied four millions sterling upon Bucharest, and ordered Roumanian paper-money to bear the German stamp to the amount of 15 per cent, of the face value. ,Thu Germans have promised full civil and political liberties to the Mews.
