A FATAL FIRE.
AT INVERCARGILL-J[OTOR GARAGE. By Toiegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, Dee. 10. Woods' motor garage was totally destroyed by fire at 2 o'clock this morning. C'ev 40 cars, many privately owned, were burnt. The building was brick and covered about a quarter of an acre in the main block, owned by J. G. Ward. The News building was threatened, the intense heat breaking the skylights. The damage was about £20,000. The insurances are not available. Examination. of the debris of Woods' fire disclosed the remains of John JtcIvor, aged 20. who slept on the premises. Insurances: Building, £31)00; stock, £ISOO.
