LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY.
MONTHLY MEETING. Tho monthly meeting of the North Tiii'anaki Executive of the Royal Lifespi ing Society was hold in the Soldiers' Club-rooms on Wednesday evening. Affiliation was granted to the newlyformed Fast End Surf and Life-saving Club, and their delegate on tlie executive (Mr. L. Hammond) raas welcomed. . Reports wore received fpm sub-com-mittees with regard to the life-saving gear at East End and Ngamotu, and several members expressed themselves viry strongly on learning that at Ngamotu the doors had been removed from Oc reel shed and that the belt had been til.en from the reel. It was decided that a new belt must be obtained immediately.
As a definite date could not be fixed for the competition for the Tabor Shield, it was agreed to hold the contest at the opening of the band rotum*. at East End,- which would probably be at the end of January or early, ir. Febrntry. Three new members were elected. The secretary reported that instructors were required to give instruction to clasjes of school boys during the holidays and several classes will result A class for ladies will also be commencing immediately.
