WHEAT SOLD TO BRITAIN. ESTIMATE OF CROP. . Received Dee.. 13, 10.40 p ra. Melbourne, Dee. 13. In the House of Representatives, Mr Hughes (Premier) announced that the; new Mica: crop and- the balance of last season's grain, not exceeding three million tons, had been sold tc Britain at 4s fld pei bushel, f.o.b An immediate advance of 2s Cd per bushel will be made to farmers. Sufficient grain will be kept l for nonii use, and the remainder will be shipped during the first six months of 1917. Preliminary estimates of the new crop are 145 million bushels. Allowing for damage by rains and rust, the yield will probably not exceed 120 million bushels. GREEKS CABLE TO VENIZELOS'. HIS 'POLICY APPROVED, Received Dec. 13, 1050 p.m. ' '.Sydney, Dec. 13. A Greek communique has leen cabled to M. Venizeltfs, stating that the Greeks in Australia are in entire agreement with his policy, ahd protesting against the Loyalists' attitude, which brings the whole nation into an abysp of ruin and destruction.
