WAR RELIEF ASSOCIATION.

' MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the Taranaki War Relief Association was held at Stratford on Monday. Messrs J. E. Wilson (New Plymouth), E. Beckbessinger ■Waitara), 1\ B. Crump (Eltham), Rev. Tinsley (Opunako), Kirkwood (Stratford), McPhillips (Manaia). C. Kenny (Patea), F. Mills (Hawcra), R. Dunn (Alanaia) and W. Percival (Inglewood) The matter of securing'land for soldiers was left to a special committee, consisting of Messrs Kirkwood, Dunn and McPhillips. They are to formulate a scheme and jiihmit details to a future meeting. A grant of £lO was made to a re-, turned soldier, discharged from the forces on November 21. His medical report stated that he was "paralysed from the waist down, partial paralysis of left arm and injured vision." The grand total of the Taranaki funds was £34,375 (not including Hawera committee). The disbursements by way of relief (33 cases) amounted to £270.
