Reserve, £36,534.000. Proportion of reserve to liabilities, 21.79. Circulation, £.'J7,555,000. Government deposits, £.:5,"17,000. Other deposits, £108,040.000. Government securities, £4 ; 2.185,000. Oilier securities, £10(i,7ofl,0!>0, Short loans, 5 per cent.; three months' bills, 5% per cent. The Stock Exchange is somewhat depressed owing to the political crisis and the Roumanian situation, but there is! not any pressure to sell. Consols, £.34 10s; war loans, £B3 10s an £OS. New Zealand 4 per cents. £Bf 7s fid: 3 1 /; per cent. £7l 15s; 3 per cents £C3 ss. LONDON MARKETS. London, December V. Wool.—The Bradford market is absolutely disorganised, and there is nothing doing. Quotations are impossible, but ti'ne market dosed rather miore cheerful after an influential conference, at which all sections were represented, and a resolution passed similar to that carried in London on Friday. At the meeting, a well-informed speaker said that sales would be held next week, and would continue to be held for wools which the Government did not require. Wheat.—The market is firm and quiet. Flour is firm. Australian patents, 50s to 50s Od. Peas are firm. New Zealand Maples, 48s. Beans— The .narkct is strong, but no New Zealand are offering. Oats.—Market hardening. No La Plata offering. Sugar—Unchanged. Copper—, Spot, £152 10s, three months £143 10s; electrolvtic, £lO7 10s. Tin—Spot, £ISO 12s Od; three months, £ISB 12s Od. Lead-Spot, £3O 10s; three months, £2!) 10s. Spelter—Spot, £SB; three months, £55. Silver, 3fi'/ s d per oz. Shares—Union Steamship, 50s; Wahi, 34s fid to 35s Od. Butter—Butter is very firm, but business is restricted owing to the short supplies. Danish is qiiotcd at about 2225. Australian is practically clearer. Choicest salted 200s, 208s, 2125; unsalted, 2125; lower grades, 184s to 200s. There is no New Zealand butter offering until the Rimutaka discharges. Argentine, jnsalted, 204s to 208s. Cheese—Firm. Canadian, 12fis to 1305... Retailers are apprehensive about supplies, fearing that the Governmc"*; will release very little. LONDON WOOL SALES. London, Dec. S. It has been decided to hold wool sales from December 14 to December 20 and from December 28 to January 3, subject to such conditions as the Government may impose.
