Mr. Tom Buchanan to-day received a very interesting collection of buttons, badges of several different regiments out°in Egypt, also a "Special Order of the Day,"' on which appear telegrams o' congratulations. from King Ueorge, His Highness the Sultan, the Chief of the Imperial Staff, the Sirdar of the Egyptian army, and Sirry Pasha (Minister for War), for the gallant work done by the Egyptian force during the battle of Komani. The collection was sent out by Cliff Tate, who states that .he is doing Al, but, by a photo, enclosed, .he appears to be wishing for a cooler climate. . Mr. J. T. M. Hornsby, M.P for Wairarapa,' is giving an address in Waitara next' Thursday evening on the subject, '"The War, and After." Waitara is waiting for the new theatre to open, as St. John's Hall was not large enough to accommodate the crowd that wanted to be .present at the eon-, cert given last night in aid of the Red Crosvand Ladies' Patriotic Guild. The concert was a huge success, the takings amounting to about £25. The Waitara "Merry Musical Maoris" »ave a concert in Stratford last night before a large audience. This troupe has done splendid work for patriotic purposes reaching the sum of over £'2oo during the last three months.
