TECHNICAL COLLEGE.
ANNUAL SPORTS. The annual sports of the New Ply. mouth Technical College were held on the Recreation Grounds yesterday. The ] weather was fine, and there was a fair attendance. The girls of the college SHved afternoon tea, the proceeds of which were devoted to tho patriotic funds. The races were despatched in Stood time, and excellent running was j witnessed. The mile championship and it he high jump championship were two notable events. Several events will be run on Monday, when the championship points will be allotted. Judging from lii's performances yesterday, E. Fenwiek seems likely to annex the championship cup. There will be no money prizes, the boys having' decided to accept trophies and certificates. Mr. N. Greiner has donated two medals, and Mr. F. W. Sandford one. The officials were:—Judges, Messrs J. R. Hill and F. W. Sandford; starter, Mr. A. Gray; marksmen, Messrs Kirkpatrick and Skelton; time-keeper, Rev. A. B. Chappell; hon. secretary, Mr. H. Feakins. The results are as follow:

This race attracted 16 entries, and was the best of the day. The competitors got away well and kept together until the last round, when Maxwell and Feakins forged ahead. About 50 yards from home Feakins led, but won by a narrow margin, a good distance separating Eecond and third.
