O'Callaghan, respectively. | HORTICULTURAL SHOW, The New Plymouth Horticultural Society 'held their annual spring show last Thursday in the Whiteley Hall but owing to the precarious weather lately experienced the blooms, especially the roses, were not up to their usual standard. The decorated tables were works of art, and were judged by Mesdames H. Lepper, :K. Cock, Misses Godfrey and Percy Smitili, and as the proceeds of the show are to be devoted to patriotic purposes, the majority of the prizewinners also decided to give over their prize-money to the same fund. There were also several patriotic stalls, one where cut flowers could" be bought, being in charge of Misses Blundell, B. Matthews, Cutfield and K. Leatham. The produce stall was arranged by Mesdames Dockrill, McGahey and Miss B. Smith; while the afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Newman, Matthews, Eilerm and' Misses Hempton, Curtis, M. and E.
