INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) December 7. On Saturday the Ked Cross Mart is to *e in charge of the Egir.ottt Village and Albert Road ladies, and is to be held in the shop recently occupied by Mr. Cramer. The borough Council has decided not to grant electric, power for cookers until the summer power has been tested. The local tennis players were to Have journeyed to Tariki on Thursday, but their match had to be postponed owing to the weather, and will probably be played next Thursday. The tender of Mr. W. Cocld, at 30s per 100, .for the survey pegs for the Cemeterv Board has been accepted. Other tenders were: Messrs. Brown and Co., 31s 6d; N T ew Plymouth Sash and Door Co., 325; and Mr. Surrey, 50s. Mr. Newton King's new offices are now complete, and, with the large showroom facing the street, tihe whole of the frontage of which is of plateglass, has made n. wonderful difference to the appearance of that part of the borough. Mr. King's enterprise is certainly worthy of commendation, and one cannot think he has regretted establishing himself i" lnglewood.
