The Department of Agriculture, Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated London, December 2, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand. Meat—There is a better demand for p't/me lamb owing to the decreasing supplier of Home-killed mutton and Scotch lambs. New Zealand mutton is very scarce, B%d per lb; ewe mutton, 8d Argentine mutton, heavy-weight, B%d, light-weight B%d. Small supllies Dutch Mutton, BJd to lOd. New Zealand lamb 'mA. Argentine lamb B%d. New Zealand bull beef, hindf. 7}d, fores GJd. Argen tine chilled beef, hinds 9d, fores fid. Butter—The market continues firm Danish, little business doing, 218s to 2;' os, exceptionally, 2£2s. Irish creamery continues in good demand, 206s to 210s, unsalted 208s to 2125. Australian salted £:G4s, unsalted 20Ss to ,2125. New Zea■and, ex Arawj, not yet available. Dutch 2GSs, to 20Ss. Argentine unsalted 20(!s to 2GBs. American salted 190s. Cheese—The market is rather unsettled on account of action of Governr ent. Canadian white 120s to 128s, colored 128s to 130s. English cheddar, in fair demand, 130s to 140s. States flat; 1 , white, 122s to 120s. New Zealand importers have been notified by (niutil.itul word here) that the Government has commandeered all cheese ex Arawa. It is anticipated that similar action will be taken with regard to shipments to arrive shortly.
