DROWNED WHILE BATHING.
- '■ '"""* \ THRICE MAORI GIRLS. . 1 By Ttlegrapli.—Press Association Gisborne, Dec. 7. A drowning accident occurred at Te Ar.-fi yesterday afternoon, when three Maori girls lost their lives. The children w'eit pupils of the 'l'e Arai school, named liern Johnston, 12 years, Iloriana Turmgi, !i years, and Pairua, 8J years. Thcj went to the river to bathe and were accompanied by three other girls. ' Upon the alarm being given several • adults went to their assistant?,, unfortunate girl.-, had disappeared. Pho girls were all used to swimming.
