N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford branch, report as follow S: — ■ On Tuesday, November 28, we held our usual fortnightly sale at our Stratford yards\ We hud a good yarding of cattle and sheep, and sold most lines at full roaiket values, although some lines appeared not to be in, such demand as recently. We started at 11.30 sharp, with a fair attendance of operators, and have to report a satisfactory sale. The following are some of the prices realised: Hoggets, mixed, in wool, small 31s 2d, c«es, small and mixed in quality 31s Bd, fat caws, from £l2 6s to £l3, empty cows, good joints, ,£9 4s to- £ll Is, smaller lines £8 8s to £8 10s, yearling | heifers £4 for small to £5 16s for fair linn, yearling to 15-months from £0 10s to £7 14s CiT 18-month heifers £7 14s I'*,, 12 to 15-month steers £6 14s fid, yearlings, small and weedy £3 6s, bulls, small, £6 14,5 to £7 ISs for medium grown. In our dairy yards springing Ivc'ftrs, showing quality, sold well at from £9 5s to £l2 10s, cows from £J5i to £l3 12s 6d.

Since we last reported we have handled a large quantity of stock privately at the following prices: Yearling heifers, small, £4, 15-montlis heifei's £6 12s fid, yearling steers from £5 5s to £6 13s, IS'month steers £7 12s Gd to £7 ISs, springing heifers £ll to £l2, dairy cows £)G 5s to £l4 14s, store cows, small, from £7 5s to £8 10s, empty cows well grown, in fair condition, £ll to £l2 10s, 2-fear-old heifers £7 ss, pedigree Jersey hull 25gns. ewes and lambs £2 7s Ad, wethers 37s 6d, 2-touth ewi.s, shorn, 30a, 2-tooth wethers, shorn, 27= 6d, Lincoln rams, up to 4sgns. Wo held our usual monthly sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow on Tuesday. November 28, and offered a catalogue comprising 15(i(l sheepskins, hides and tallow to a spirited bench of buyers, wiio competed keenly for all sheepskins and hides, and wc have to report a successful sale. All wool was held over pendir.g definite arrangements with the Government. The following are some of the prices obtained:—Shorn pelts 5d lb, ■J-woolled, dead, lOd lb, lambs Sid lb, J to full-woolled 12d to 13Jd per lb, torn and damaged. IOAd lb, short-woolled 81d per lb, butchers' crossbred, full woolled. 13M lb, damaged lljd lb, double-fleeced sheepskin at 2H 6d each, horsehair Is 4Jd pet lb. Hides (tanners'), fljd to 10% d per lb, horse hides 7s fld to lis fid eaeh. 'Butchers' cowhides IOJd to lljd lb, yearlings 8d to 10'/„d per lb. Calfskins, dishtly fleshy, lid lb, dirty and slippy 0|(1 lb, Ist cut Aid, 2nd out 81d lb, seconds lly 8 d lb, firsts ll%d to 12% d lb, specials 12Jd.
