BAND'S VISIT TO OKATO At the invitation of the Okato Patriotic Committee, the New Plymouth ! Citizens' Band will visit Okato on SunI Jay, and give a recital on behalf or" j -hi patriotic funds. Reports from the I country indicate that large parties are going to Okatc from all the surrounding districts, and quite a nmnbei intend making the trip from New Plymouth The programme to be submitted by the band will be the finest Sunday programme so far contributed, and will embrace English, Scottish, and Irish selections, sacred solos, and favorite hymns. "AOTEA" FETE. In connection with the fete to be held at "Aotea" grounds on December 13 and 14, the taxi-drivers of New Plymouth have generously undertaken to convey the members of the band to the grounds free of charge. BELGIAN FUND. The proceeds from the sale of flowers in Devon aud Brougham Streets-on Saturday will be devoted to the Salvation Army's effort on behalf of the Belgians. RED CROSS MART. Tiie committee in charge of the Red Cross Market report that they have several orders on hand for Christmas cakes and puddings, but the supply is not sufficient to meet the demand, and they would be. gratified if housewives and others would make a special effort on behalf of the Red Crosa, and thus enable all orders to be lulu'led.
